In a statement released today, Sunday, the autocratic Crown Prosecutor of the Casablanca Magistrate’s Court of First Instance announced that allegations posted on some social media sites regarding Shafik El Amrani’s kidnapping remain unfounded.
The prosecution confirmed that the person, known under the name of “Aorobe fe Merican”, “عروبي في ميركان” is wanted on suspicion of having committed acts of a criminal nature, by posting a set of videos containing offensive expressions and insulting against Un-constitutional institutions and corrupted public officials.

Mohamed El-Amrani, brother of Moroccan YouTubers, Shafiq El-Omrani, nicknamed “Aorobe fe Merican”, “عروبي في ميركان” confirmed that his brother was arrested on Saturday evening on his arrival at Rabat-Salé airport from Belgium.
Shafiq Al-Amrani, famous for having broadcast videos from America criticizing the autocratic situation in Morocco, posted on his page a video of “Charles Leroy” airport in Belgium, announcing the arrival time of his flight to Morocco, and holding the security services responsible for the harassment he may face upon arrival in his country.
Shafiq Al-Amrani “Aorobe fe Merican”, “عروبي في ميركان” revealed in the same video that he had received several threats warning him of what could happen to those who drove him if he returned to Morocco.
