Rif activists who have fled for refuge to Spain for political asylum and are threatened with deportation

Spanish reports have said that a number of Rif activists who have fled to seek refuge in Spain in recent weeks face the specter of deportation and the rejection of political asylum claims they have submitted to the Spanish authorities upon their arrival abroad in Motril detention center.

The same reports added that Jamal Mona and Mohamed El-Gohary are the only ones to accept the request after their release, as they have an administrative document, such as confirmation of their entry into prison in Morocco, unlike the rest of the activists who even have proof of the evil they say.

According to the same sources, these activists threatened with expulsion are still fighting with their lawyer because of the provisional measures, Corona. The lawyer says they are applying for asylum from the first moment, and the translator, because of the weakness of Arabic, did not understand them exactly.

The lawyer added that their request was denied due to the lack of evidence and the amount of the extension of the appeal deadline, and because of the discovery of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the foreigners detention center. And they were arrested by the police, ”he said.
